Precia Kim Our 2008 Missionary Project

Our goal is to buy Precia a laptop computer.
My Step-by-Step Journey
1980 - Accepted Jesus Christ at a Billy Graham Crusade when I was 10 years old.
1990 - Attended Urbana90 Missions Conference –
worshiped, prayed, and praised with 40,000 other Christians from around the world in the “Global
Hallelujah”! Also, received the book Uncle Cam, the biography of William Cameron Townsend, the founder of Wycliffe Bible Translators.
1991 - Went on a short-terms missions trip to the Gambia, West Africa. Learned firsthand of missions in a Muslim society. Observed different people groups in the country – the Mandingo, Jola, Serecule, Wolof, and the Fulani – how each of these tribes had their language, culture, and customs.
1996 - Prayed seriously about my role in God’s grander scheme of world missions.
2002 - Realized my purpose and passion in reading literacy work with special needs students. Also started praying for missionaries sent from my home church serving in Chad, Romania, Thailand, North Africa and Bosnia.
2004 - Took “Worldwide Perspectives” class, which gave me a deeper understanding of what missions work involved.
2007 - In June, met with Wycliffe recruiters to discuss how God may have prepared me all this time for missions work - my background, experiences, talents, giftings, and a heart for Bible translation work. Was encouraged to apply to Wycliffe. August 28, one of the most thrilling days of my life – acceptance into Wycliffe!
Next step - Lord-willing, linguistics and Bible translation training for one year at Canada Institute of Linguistics outside of Vancouver, British Columbia, June 2008.
